This year's Rescue Run5K was a smash hit. For those of you who don't know, we also founded a 501c3 non-profit volunteer and rescue organiztion called The Monster Milers. We're a running-focused rescue group that pairs up local runners with adoptable dogs. We also rescue dogs directly from our City's intake shelter and place them in foster homes.
Each year we host a massive 5K down at The Navy Yard to raise awareness about rescue. We invite shelters from all over the region to bring adoptable dogs out to the race to meet and greet hundreds of runners. The event draws over a thousand volunteeers, runners and spectators. This year the race won "Best of Philly" (Best Race for a Cause.) We were pretty pumped!
This year, Minder / Manager Nikki and her partner, Carolyn hung out at the Minder table (and made lots of canine friends!)
Minder Steph KILLED it, yet again, and came in FIRST PLACE FEMALE OVERALL. (She did the same last year. She is definitely the fastest dog walker on our crew.) Leah Milito, our former manager, is one of the planning committee members for The Rescue Run 5K, so she helped me make sure the event went off without a hitch!
Minder Steph wins AGAIN! If you can't tell, there are HUNDREDS of runners who aren't even close to her!
